Whether it be directing or acting, Rachel Ward is a staple of the Australian film industry. Both her short films The Big House (2001) and Martha’s New Coat (2003) won the Australian Critic Circle Award, as well as being nominated for all major Australian awards. Her shorts have also screened at festivals around the world, including Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand and more. As an actress Rachel has starred in many international films, including Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, Against All Odds, The Good Wife and How To Get Ahead in Advertising, as well as her most well-known role as Meggie Cleary in mini-series The Thorn Birds. Rachel’s most recent work, her first feature-length film Beautiful Kate, made its debut at the Sydney Film Festival in June this year.
